Five industrial processes worth automating first
Where digitalisation returns the fastest operational payback.

1. Preventive maintenance planning
Paper plans and spreadsheet calendars fail silently. A digital plan with automatic scheduling, alerts and history turns maintenance from reactive firefighting into a predictable routine — usually the fastest payback of any industrial digitalisation project.
2. Production and stoppage records
If stoppages are recorded by hand, root causes stay invisible. Capturing them at the source, with reason codes, gives you the data to attack the top three losses instead of arguing about them.
3. Inspections and checklists
Mobile checklists with photos, timestamps and mandatory fields remove the gap between what was supposed to be checked and what was actually checked, and produce audit evidence with no extra effort.
4. Stock and spare parts
Digital stock control on critical spares prevents the most expensive kind of downtime: a machine waiting for a part that nobody knew had run out.
5. Management reporting
Reports assembled by hand every month are both late and expensive. Once the data above is captured digitally, dashboards replace the assembly work and management decisions move from monthly to weekly.
